Hello, I hope you can response a logical question of thinking consumers not only focused on driving fun or luxury details. please help me to clarify a doubt I have!! :). Nobody has told me a good argument. A turbo 4 cylinder engine doesn't inspire confidence in final users like me when I think about reliability in the medium and long term in comparison with a 6 cylinder engine for a typical SUV usage (example driving on snow, camping or long family trips and uphill roads with 6 or 7 passengers plus baggage) that's the reason why usually people buy a V6 SUV. That's the reason why a 4 cyl engine doesn't make sense for me. beyond arguments of driving fun or luxury details a very important point for paying the same price for a 4 Cyl rather than a 6 cyl is that you are buying a car for a medium and long term!!. The major detail is overall the engine, the reliability or how will the performance decrease in a 4-cylinder engine if it is required like a 6-cylinder engine? and how durable enough will be the vehicle. What about fatigue, durability and performance btw a 4 cyl and a 6 cyl for a typical SUV usage with 3 rows in the medium and long term? I guarantee that many people ask this question including me. Regards
Hi MrGonz2012 Things have changed, and challenge the belief that larger engines are more durable and reliable. This has come about through improvements all aspects of vehicle design, materials, manufacturing techniques and the expanded suite of technology used. More reliable turbocharging technologies has allowed engine capacity to play a lesser role in determining output. This is being done with less risk of durability issues while at the same time efficiency has improved to the point where small petrol engines are even challenging fuel consumption performance of similar diesel engines. Developments in engine production quality, oil packaging technologies, lower revving engines and better materials has improved the overall durability of smaller engines, and if maintained correctly should provide the same reliability. Thank you for commenting on our video.
Thanks so much for your valuable response.
Hi demomax94. The track on the video is the Bunbinyunna Track. If you go to the Merna Mora website you'll see it's No 1., and on their map it's shown in red. Cheers, John
